Aberfeldy Trip Report

The Club have just returned from a fun filled, adrenaline fuelled activity trip to Aberfeldy. Six of the club’s coaches accompanied 43 swimmers to Dunolly Adventures for a three day residential trip.

The club’s annual team-building trip is seen as an important part of the swimming calendar. This year the coaches were keen for members to experience a range of other aquatic sports where they could use their swimming skills and build on their water confidence. The range of activities varied from gorge walking, canyoning, duckying, canoeing and the ultimate experience of white water rafting on the River Tay ending with the thrilling rapids at Grandtully. This was a definite favourite.

Gentler activities in the evening included rock climbing, crate stacking and orienteering which helped to improve their co-ordination and problem solving skills. Swimming can be quite a solitary sport so it is important swimmers get the chance to get to know their team mates and interact with them in a social setting. Behaviour at this year’s trip was exemplary and a total credit to the club. The trip ended with a visit to Landmark Forest Adventure Park, Aviemore for a more relaxing day before returning home to Dundee tired but happy.

Comments from parents include:
