Annette Mooney (nee Pearson) Passing

It is with regret that I have to advise members of the death of Life Member Annette Mooney (nee Pearson) at the young age of 49, following a short illness.

Annette was a fine swimmer and water polo player and arguably the finest female polo player ever produced in Scotland. She was in 2 world record teams for the 100mile relay and had over 60 caps for GB, playing in European and World Championships and pre Olympic tournaments. Despite this Annette was a true Club person and once said her proudest moment was captaining Menzieshill to the British Ladies Polo Championships in 1984, (trophy for this is in the cabinet at Olympia).

She was also the first ever Scottish Water Polo Female Player of the year.

I am sure all our thought are with her Gavin, 3 daughters, and all her family.
